Happy holidays to everyone who has been celebrating over the last week!
Whether you’re observing or not, for many of us, this is also a week when work slows down a bit. If we’re lucky, we get to spend quality time with loved ones, and — ostensibly — rest. For my little family, it’s been a bit from columns A, B & C, with more of the same for the next two weeks.
Without the anchors of work, school and other regularly scheduled programming, the days sort of feel like this:
Phoebe is looking awfully comfortable in her onesie, which is my vibe right now.
For the lazy* week ahead, I scrolled through my camera roll for the coziest outfits from the past year and compiled them into one newsletter for easy viewing…and repeating: copy, paste, ready to roll. (* haha, I wish)
On that note, I know it’s a busy time of year, but I thought it would be fun to share our favourite outfit(s) over the past year into this thread. Over the next week, feel free to drop one or more pictures into the chat, and while you’re at it, tell us a bit about yourself - as little or as much as you want to share!
If you’re looking for New Year’s Eve fitspo, in the next couple of days, I’ll be posting my holiday party edition of What I’m Wearing. I drew inspiration from — and, in some cases, outright copied — the outfits from my holiday newsletters (here and here), so make sure to have a look at those.
Ski Sweaters
Last year I invested in a vintage wool duffle coat and a few ski sweaters and it paid off in spades. I got tons of wear out of every piece, both in the city and in “ski country” (the quotation marks areworking very hard).
Sweatpants
My downtime go-to. Sometimes I even fall asleep in them, roll out of bed, and wear them the next day. Efficient, non? Phoebe would approve.
“You know the message you're sending out to the world with these sweatpants? You're telling the world, ‘I give up. I can't compete in normal society. I'm miserable, so I might as well be comfortable.’”
maybe a more elevated jogger is your jam. Like a nylon jogger…
(Knit) Sweatsuit
…or even a knit.
Jeans
I’m not a big jean wearer, but I know many of youlivein them. All good, jeans can be cozy, too:
A Little Fancier
And if for whatever reason, you need/want to be more dressed up — but still cozy!! — here are eight cozy outfits from the last year:
That’s it from me! Expect What I’m Wearing to land in your inbox in the next couple of days.
So good Irene.. I’m busy dissecting! I read this briefly but as it was a different season here hadn’t read in detail. Thank you!
I'm debating that Cecilie Bahnsen skirt! Do you love it? Is it versatile? Thank you! Your newsletter has been such a source of inspiration!
