Welcome back to my HTBAFW series!

To recap, I consider foundational pieces to be a small collection of approximately a few dozen pieces including clothing, shoes, and accessories that encourage you to wear your favourite things every day. Intrinsic to that definition is that foundational pieces are: 1) functional, 2) versatile, and 3) you love them.

In Part 2, I discussed what it means for a wardrobe to be “functional” and “versatile”. Today I’ll be discussing the “love” aspect, in other words, what are the right foundational pieces for you. Another way to frame it is, what is it about a piece that makes you want to reach for it everyday?
