126/ You Asked, I Sourced: What You're Eyeing For Fall
Asymmetrical skirts, sherpa sweaters, animal print flats & more. Plus, a new bag brand!
Dear readers,
Back in August, I asked you what you were eyeing for fall, and I received dozens of replies in this thread. The responses ranged from the general (“quality basics”) to the highly specific (“elevated Sherpa fleece sweaters like what Sandy Liang and Marfa Stance are doing” — what?), and I noticed some common themes (“browns/maroons/suede”).
For this newsletter, I’ve scoured the internet for a handful of your responses, and I’ll be sharing those finds with you! Over the next while, I’ll continue to work through the thread, so keep an eye out for future “You Asked, I Sourced” newsletters.
But before I get to that, I want to put a new bag brand on your radar!
Ever since I started this newsletter, the number of cold emails I get from brands has increased exponentially. One could be annoyed by the dozens of extra emails a day, or — as I see it — appreciate the help with market research when new brands, look books, and updates are dropped into one’s inbox.
Even so, it’s rare for me to get an email that really intrigues me…but this morning it happened! I received an email from London handbag brand, KIKIITO, and I just had to share it with you. Look at these bags!!!!
Most of the bags on Kikiito’s website are (hand) made-to-order in their London studio, so it’s unlikely you’ll be seeing them at your local retailer. The turn around time is 3-5 weeks, and they’re priced around the £700 mark.
Check out Kikiito’s Instagram here.
Okay, back to regularly scheduled programming!
What you’re eyeing: asymmetric/visually interesting/structural button downs
What I found: The shirts with the side cutout are easy to incorporate into your outfits and will give instant visual interest. And, I’m intrigued by the ribbon front along the placket of the Zara x Stefano Pilati shirt…although, it kind of reminds me of a pen holder?
