I’m find myself feeling very influenced on the Calder sweatpants. But $200 feels a lot for sweatpants. Are they super super?! ❤️❤️❤️

I think it depends on your budget, how much you’ll wear them and if you care lol. I wear sweats everyday and I put off buying these bc i had my Nike and H&M men’s joggers. When I finally pulled the trigger, it’s so noticeable how much more elevated they are. The fabric is thicker and the shape makes it more refined. I’m more inclined to wear them for events and not feel like “sorry I made no effort and showed up in my sweats”. That said, had I not bought them, ignorance is bliss - I wouldn’t know what I was missing and life would go on!

I have them, love them, and wear them more often than I'd expected to. Dressed up and down. More versatile than you'd think!

Did you size down. Of course, I’m asking questioning as if they are not totally sold out 🤣

You didn’t ask me but it took TTS in long.

I normally wear a small/medium in Tibi bottoms and bought a small - they are substantial but give a bit with wear. I think the medium would be too big. For reference, I'm 5'2' and pear shaped

I like them a lot but they’re just sweatpants!

They’re a very cool shape and good quality.

The way you pivoted from your plans shows what an expert you are at packing. Also, seeing the items you ended up not wearing is good learning. Where the Christopher Esber’s out because of the sore feet from walking?!

Also, very into that open weave skirt. Did you buy it with travel/events in mind? You do such a good job of gathering incredible pieces and I’m curious your process…

The Christopher Esber’s looked good with the jeans which I didn’t wear! Looking at it now I could have even worn them the third day with my running shorts, but my feet were so wrecked! Bleeding Achilles, water filled blisters on my sole and bunion - it was running shoes or busy!

As for the skirt, I mentioned in the other post that AF had gifted me Zankov’s long cardigan dress and that I loved the idea of styling it with the skirt. I knew all his looks because I was researching him for my NY emerging designers article and I loved it.

Frankly, I don’t really need it, but a part of getting it is that if a small business like that gifts me something I want to support them back by buying something 🙃.

I was at Art Basel also!!! Was amazing.

My favorite also was It Only Takes a Moment #2, 2024; Huê Thi Hoffmaster. The black caught me off guard for a floral pinging but it worked. 🖤🖤🖤.

The Weather was also perfect. And absolutely loved people watching. Such a fun experience.

I remember seeing that Zankov skirt online and thinking it was so cool. You look amazing in the pleated dress, it really suits you.

I enjoyed seeing some of the artwork from Art Basel thank you for sharing that.

Thank you so much for sharing your packing thought process vs reality. It really helps so much.

Hi Irene, Thanks so much for sharing some stunning works from Art Basel. Would love to go one day.

You look absolutely gorgeous in that Issey dress. So glad you brought it and had a chance to shine in it.

Question on sneakers - are the Cariuma canvas sneakers good for walking? - sight seeing type walking but several miles. I love the Dries sneakers but they are out of my price range. I find running shoes too bulky for traveling, especially if I already have hiking boots with me (which is often).

Thanks for everything and your wonderful newletters.

I don’t think I’ve walked them for more than maybe 2-3 miles so far? But those walks have been fine. The sole is very cushiony and comfortable. But, the upper is not lined (kind of like converse), so once I walked my kid to school without a sock and the upper was rubbing against my bunion 🥴. As long as I’m wearing socks I’ve been good. They’re definitely more cushioned than the dries.

I can so relate to the misjudging of the weather. When the difference is some 20oC I cannot physically comprehend how the warmth can feel on my body. I simply do not believe that it can really be that warm elsewhere when it’s so called where I am 😄 also Art Basel - Miami, I’m so coming. I love your art picks, Irene. So vibrant! Little stories made eternal on canvas. 🙏🏻
