You nailed it! I struggle with packing so much. Would love to see the entire packing list. I liked the color theme of this packing also. Very pretty, chill, and modern, and not trendy at all.

This is a good idea and I might post this!

Please do! I Bet it’s something a lot of folks struggle with. I always overpack. Need a strategy, and would love to have an expert’s guide on this! Vacation packing is tough--it’s too easy to throw “one more” unnecessary thing in there.

A la Joan Didion ;-)

Oh my gosh I’m obsessed with that Joan Didion piece and list. The alpaca blanket, typewriter, bourbon, cigarettes…not so much but the rest I love, and she’s right!

I struggle with the "looking normal" thing too! Sometimes I find myself wearing things that are downright unflattering, but caring less about this than being seen as "basic.". I know the word "flattering" is a dirty word these days, but I can't think of a replacement.

Is it unflattering, or just not making your body the focal point?

I feel as though I should have gone for the Sam! Not that anyone cares much about what my 18 year old daughter thinks, but she hates the taper at the ankle. Now that’s all I can see! I’m still mulling over the situation.

Really? Interestingly, I feel like the ankle taper is so critical in making you not feel overwhelmed by an slouchy pant. I actually struggle a lot with wide/straight leg pants and I rarely wear them.

Yes, I agree! Particularly nice in the summer months. I was around the first time for acid wash, so perhaps this is what’s really bugging me. It’s markedly different than what we had in the 80s though. Thank you for the discussion!

FWIW I love them! And yes, i notice this a lot in my work: if you were around for the last trend cycle 20-30 years ago, my clients struggle with it envisioning it in a fresh way. Other examples: shoulder padded blazers, boxy oversized masculine suiting, 90s style jeans, etc…

I think I’ll take your opinion over my teen’s! I bought them because I’m denim-obsessed and needed something less “basic” - of course!

I can’t believe how much the silver shoes work...I have some silver shoes but I clearly have not been utilizing them enough!

They truly do! Which shoes do you have?
