001/ What I'm Wearing: 2023 Week 1
My first non-intro post! A closer look at my outfits of the week: après sweaters but make them city + a marinière.
Among other things, I’m planning to share weekly What I’m Wearing (WIW) newsletters with you. I have a few post ideas in mind already, but the scope and direction of this newsletter will evolve as I feel things out. A big part of that will be reading your comments and discussions to see what’s resonating and what you would like to see more of. So, don’t be shy — leave a comment at the end of this post!
I’ll start by breaking down my outfits from the first nine weeks of 2023 — this is a way to welcome my very first subscribers (hello and thank you!), give you something to read and hopefully spark some conversation. These first WIWs won’t include my thought process because, frankly, that was nine weeks ago, my memory ain’t what it used to be, I can barely recall what I did this morning. But from now on, as I get dressed, I’ll be taking mental notes for the express purpose of adding to this column!
As promised: details of outfits.

One note about the links I share with you in this newsletter. I use affiliate links, which means if you click one of the links and make a purchase, I may receive a small commission. Don’t worry: this commission doesn’t cost you anything, and it’s a way to recognize me for my knowledge of the market and the work that goes into cataloging and linking what I wear. If something isn’t linked, that means the piece might not be available anymore or I can’t find the exact right link for it.
I’d love to hear what you think of this recap. Please leave a comment or a question for me below!
With gratitude,
Irene
Hello! I have been following you on instagram for sometime now. Looking forward to hearing more on your experience and expertise on style. I notice the Zara items you have. I have been a zara shopper, less so in recent years perhaps as I discover different brands. Lately I struggle a lot with zara=fast fashion thoughts. I do not want to be a part of fast fashion, trying to buy things second hand or invest in pieces whenever I can. However can’t afford to upgrade everything either. How do you approach your purchases from brands such as zara? Curious to hear your thoughts! Thanks in advance. Zeynep (my 1st post of this comment didn’t work, so hopefully you are not getting this long comment twice :) )
I coveted those Balenciaga pumps since I first saw you where them over the holidays! The sSense link for them is sold out :(
