All right let's talk about THE Margiela jeans. I've been coveting them since last year... But I haven't taken the leap because they would be by far the most expensive jean I own
How are you feeling about the purchase?
Do you think these are ultimately going to be a trend that you only get wear for a year or two? Or do you feel like you can take these into a more classic realm where you reach for them for a decade or more?
Hey Jacquie, what a coincidence, they're by far the most expensive jeans I own too lol. I'm two years in and I feel still feel good about them. I do know that they won't be an everyday jean, more like a 3x a year jean. And that's okay with me because I have foundational, versatile that fulfill my everyday needs, and no ripped jeans, and it adds a dimension to my wardrobe I didn't have before.
I didn't purchase these as a trend jean, but as an interesting, different jean. So from that perspective, yes, I think I can easily take this jean in the next decade and pair them with different pieces as overall silhouettes evolve (as they always do).
Hi Irene :) I'm thrilled to have discovered your account on IG just as you launched this newsletter! I love the way your style is eclectic, yet always very much you. I appreciate the mix of thrift, vintage, and new items that span from high-end to carefully chosen Zara. I have a question about flight suits! I stayed away while they were super trendy, but now that they are somewhat less so, I tried an Outerknown flight suit in faded black and I love it. What are your thoughts on flight suits? Would you wear one, and how would you style it?
Hi Emmanuelle! Thank you for the kind words and your support - and I still love your name :). I generally have trouble with jumpsuits because my torso is so long so I dont wear them often. But I do have one from Isabel Marant that I like. I also like the way she styles them in her e-comm and on the runway. Relaxed and chill and not too fitted, often tucked into wide shaft boots. Sometimes belted at the waist, sometimes at the hips.

Thanks so much Irene :). That totally strikes a chord and I will look up some Marant photos for inspiration. Looking forward to more In Moda Veritas!
My pleasure!
