I’m in SW Fla which is currently 65% humidity and hotter than hell. Messages from home have all been terrible and I have given up trying to make my hair behave itself - my daughter just laughs at the state of it now. But to cap it all, the air conditioning in my parents’ house has just said ‘nope’ and it’s now 94 degrees *indoors*. I think sometimes we imagine that everyone else’s holidays are perfect and that can compound our misery when we’re struggling already. Hang on in there - your kids will remember this fondly and forget the less-than-perfect. As we say in our family when it all turns to shit (frequently); “it’s all part of the adventure”. Big love ♥️
I’ve always wondered how hot hell is...😂. Thank you for the kind message and I hope you enjoy your summer in Florida! My dads ac wasn’t working and they didn’t seem to mind lol. I ended up buying three fans for his house bc it was steaming like a turd in there! 😂
I've loved following along on your travels! Would also love if you could highlight any Asian designers that you like that can be found in Canada. I recently bought some things from le17septembre and love the structural details.
The hot + sticky with kids sounds just like our U.S. North Carolina summer! I’m living in very lightweight and breathable fabrics.
You are showing up and that is the most important thing. Your kids won’t remember how much they complained. My kids were so cold last winter on a German/London trip and now they reminisce about all of the fun memories and rarely about the things that they whined about.
Traveling with kids is another layer of complexity! Much less solo-parenting on a trip. I’m gaining strength from you because I have a 4 nighter solo parent trip planned for just a 500 mile trip and I’ve been trying to mentally prepare.
Thanks for sharing all of the parts of your trip. It sure as hell makes it easier to relate and feel connected.
This is my summer. It’s so hot and humid in summers here then plus little kids- active swimsuits only. Thank you for sharing the practical things and not just the aspirational.

It really does. I know I’m late replying but your message really comforted me when I first read it. Thank you!
