A closer look at what I'm wearing: transitional outfits (finally!), the good tension in a fleece + skirt; the drop-shoulder vs. structured-shoulder blazer; and the limits of defining your style.
Hi Irene, just recently subscribed to the paid version so now I can ask questions :) Can I ask what size you sized up to for the Essentials fleece? I have a black fleece from Arket that I do like but its very tight around the wrist impossible to push up the sleeves. I love the oversized styling of this one but I want to make sure I am getting the same vibe.
Hi Irene, I’m really enjoying the news letter thanks. I am very tempted by the silver Mary Janes. Are they true to size and good for walking in? I do a 4km round trip to school every morning
Hi! Have you found them in stock anywhere? I found one place that had a 5.5 and 11 but beyond that I think everywhere is sold out. Anyway, yes I find that I can walk long distances in them. They are TTS and fit quite snug, almost like a glove bc the leather is so soft. I suppose I could have sizes up because I’m used to have more space in my shoes, but they’ve been fine!
Oh wow, thank you for taking the time to share these links! Applying the five questions from your March 8 post though, I love it but....if I’m honest, I don’t need it. That post is so helpful as I aim to streamline my buying habits. You’ve mentioned an upcoming piece on pruning which I look forward to as well 😉.
Hi Irene! Could you share the size of your Celine blazer? I have my eye on one in a consignment shop but am worried it will be too big (FR 40). I'm usually a US 2-4, but I am looking for an oversized look. Thank you!
Hi Irene- The part in which you discuss your ever evolving style really resonated with me...it takes away some of the conceived “rigidity” I assumed was around personal style, and is also a reflection on personal growth. Thanks for another great newsletter!
Hi Meg, you’re welcome! I think the concept of defining a personal style with adjectives, for example, can be helpful at a high level for most people. I think it’s especially the case for the many people who are in the early days of even thinking about what there style is as it gives them a general scope to work with. Also (hard to believe as this is a fashion newsletter!) but style is just not a main priority for some people, so a general sense of personal style is good enough for them. But for those of us who are really curious about style, it’s okay to have a working definition with the understanding that it will evolve as your experiences evolve. I’ve been thinking about what I’m going to write in that newsletter for two weeks! 😱 all good, it’ll be fun and good exercise for me.

Hi Sheila, I took a size medium!

Actually I see you wear them with bare legs a lot. Do you wear some kind of invisible sock inside?
I haven’t figured out how to send a image in comments but if you email me or DM me I’ll send you a pic!
Thank you! Just DM’ed you on instragram
Yes I wear a little sockeye!
Could you show us what type sometime please?
Thank you! I put myself on the notification list on Aeyde and got an email that they are back in stock
I love that Le Fou skirt, and I was delighted and truly honored to be mentioned here! Thank you Irene 😊.
I’m thankful for you taking the time to ask such thoughtful questions!

It’s FR40! 100% cashmere wool, lining is 54% cupro/46% viscose and the style is “veste classique 2B flanelle cachemire” if that helps!
