I really enjoy your "What I'm Wearing" posts and the explanation of your thought process in getting to your final outfit. Thank you for these tutorials!
Yes, this feels like outfit science! I want to take more time with your formulas and see if I can come up with some variations using my own pieces. Such a unique angle on daily dressing made simpler. Thanks Irene!
This is outfit science, Irene! I just bought that navy Tibi mini on sale and am excited to wear. That Cos men’s jacket is great.
If the last outfit is the “dreaded two” I don’t care either! That rule (for me) is useful when I think about how I look without my coat and bag which is how most people see me. Plus I love a colorful bag too!
FWIW, I consider it last outfit a one, but right on the cusp of being a two. Even though the skirt is a colour, it can read neutral to me and blends in with the sweater and shoes. But it's a close call!
Love the thought breakdown in this week's WIW. My preference is throw on and go. I don't like anything too precious. Helpful! Especially when items are used on repeat. Overall helps me determine what may be missing in my closet to let me throw on and go more.
admittedly my viewpoint is skewed after a hot first half of september in nyc and a hot second half in italy. i’ll probably regret this statement in a few weeks.
I mean ... these are like candy. How dare my husband try to communicate something about "paying the decorator" while I am reading this? How mundane! The last look is a one, everything neutral, green bag sticks out! And omg how that has gotten us to ask this question. Anyhoo. I loved digging into the inner workings, and I think using one of the last items you wore to make your next look is really smart -- it makes a solid ground to work with rather than starting with "everything in my closet" and it feels nicely familiar. XOXO
You’re so good at these kind of newsletters - maybe try a week of just that and write a newsletter about it? Or we can do one together lol at the same time and see how we both do?
What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday morning sipping a cuppa tea and reading this post, along with the comments. Irene, thank you! Love all your outfits and your thought behind them. And love what you wore to the opera! One observation I had for this post was that I always like to “tuck” whatever I’m wearing, even if just a little, to give a bit of shape, but looking at your opera outfit, it’s stunning and you’ve inspired me to try it. Perhaps it’s my broad shoulders that make me feel like I’ll look like a box but hey it’s worth trying!
Great Valentino find and always a good tip to wear what you bought when you don’t have room in your luggage. Trying to move meetings around to make October 10th... thank you for organizing it. Happy Sunday y’all 💕

It's my pleasure, Michelle!

Oh it's a great price right now! Yay!

I see it as one, too.

Isn’t throw on and go the reality of most of our lives? I want to explore more how we can do it stylishly!
this post has me anxiously awaiting proper sweater weather !
Lol, here in Toronto I’m happy to have the warm weather around as long as possible. Our winter is soooooo long!
