022/ What Caught My Eye This Week
What I'm trying, buying, returning - and why. Plus, a Turkish brand, a Ukrainian brand, consignment inspiration and some (mostly) high street finds.
Hello readers,
I’ve got a lot to share, but I keep running up against Substack’s pesky newsletter length limit (so rude!), hence this will be my first time writing three newsletters in a week.
For this edition, I wanted to show you some of the pieces and brands I’ve been thinking about recently.
But before I get into that…
In case you missed the announcement in my last post, I’ll be giving away a closet consultation to a lucky paying subscriber on Thursday, April 27! My last newsletter details what you will get from a consult with me, so have a look! All paying subscribers are automatically entered, and if you’re not a paying subscriber yet, become one today to be eligible to win.
Inspired Finds at VSP Consignment
I was at VSP Consignment last week for my regular-ish edit1 and stumbled upon this men’s Cerutti leather jacket in excellent condition and at a steal of a price. It reminded me that there are leather outerwear shapes beyond the mainstays of the bomber, moto and blazer (the trench had a small moment recently, too). This Nanushka jacket is giving very similar vibes (but why does the SSENSE model look like she’s on the verge of tears?) and, if you’re patient, I bet you could find one at a thrift-tailer near you at a fraction of the cost.
